Create your own personalized checklist using the Cessna 172 SP master checklist as a starting point. Customize sections, checklist items, notes, and emergency procedures to match your specific aircraft, equipment, and operating preferences.

IMPORTANT AVIATION USE NOTE

This application is a user-customizable checklist aid. It is the user’s responsibility to cross-check every Normal and Emergency checklist against the current, aircraft-specific Pilot’s Operating Handbook (POH), Airplane Flight Manual (AFM), applicable supplements, equipment configuration, and operating limitations before use. If this app conflicts with the aircraft manufacturer’s approved procedures, the approved AFM/POH and supplements take precedence.

About the App

Aircraft Editable eChecklist is an electronic, voice-assisted checklist application that lets a user edit and personalize Normal and Emergency checklist content. The interface is intentionally generic so it can be adapted to different aircraft, but the checklist data itself must always be verified for the exact aircraft being operated.

Quick Start

1. Open the app. The Home page displays the POH responsibility caution, Normal Checklists, Emergency Checklists, Edit Checklists, and Quick Tutorial buttons.

2. Tap NORMAL CHECKLISTS or EMERGENCY CHECKLISTS.

3. The first time the user taps NORMAL or EMERGENCY CHECKLISTS, an “IMPORTANT NOTICE” message will appear. Click “I AGREE” to start using the APP. This is a one-time user agreement to use the App.

4. The Sections menu opens automatically. Select the section you want to start with. The app then announces that section name and reads its first challenge. If you tap CLOSE without selecting a section, the app returns to the Home page.

5. Complete or verify the aircraft action, then tap CHECK. The app speaks the response and automatically advances.

6. Use REPEAT to hear the current challenge again, BACK to return to the previous item, and SECTIONS to return to the section-selection menu at any time. If you open SECTIONS during an active checklist and tap CLOSE without selecting another section, the app returns to the checklist screen you were viewing.

7. Use EDIT CHECKLISTS whenever the checklist needs to be customized.

Recommended first-time setup

· Identify the exact aircraft model, serial number, engine/propeller configuration, avionics package, autopilot, and installed POH supplements.

· Open the current aircraft-specific POH/AFM and applicable supplements.

· Compare every bundled Normal checklist section and item against the approved source.

· Create the Emergency Checklist only from the specific aircraft’s Emergency Procedures section and supplements.

· Test every voice callout for clarity before saving the checklist as Master.

Challenge-response sequence

The app is designed around a simple challenge-response flow:

Voice: “Before Engine Start Checklist.” → Voice: “Fuel selector?” → Pilot verifies position → Tap CHECK → Voice: “Both.” → Next challenge.

Home page

The Home page is the starting point for both checklist operation and customization. The caution reminds each user that the checklist must be matched to the applicable aircraft documentation.

NORMAL CHECKLISTS opens the Normal section-selection menu; it no longer starts the first section automatically.

EMERGENCY CHECKLISTS opens the Emergency section-selection menu; it no longer starts the first section automatically.

EDIT CHECKLISTS opens the on-device editor.

QUICK TUTORIAL / README opens the built-in quick-start guide.

SUPPORT / DONATE VIA PAYPAL opens the configured support page outside the checklist app.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

An “IMPORTANT NOTICE” message will appear. Click “I AGREE” to start using the APP. This message appears only the first time the user uses the APP.

Note: This application is a user-customizable checklist aid. Users are responsible for reviewing, verifying, and customizing all Normal and Emergency checklist content of the template Checklist against the current aircraft-specific POH/AFM, applicable supplements, equipment configuration, and operating limitations.

If any information in this app conflicts with approved aircraft documentation, the approved POH/AFM and applicable supplements take precedence.

Section selection menu

Tap SECTIONS at any time to jump directly to another checklist phase. The currently active section is highlighted so the user can see where the checklist is positioned.

· Selecting a section resets that section to its first item.

· The app announces the newly selected section name before its first challenge.

Keep section names concise so both the menu and voice announcement remain easy to understand.

Normal checklist screen

The operating screen keeps one challenge in focus. The section name and progress stay visible while the user verifies the airplane, then uses CHECK to hear the response and advance.

· HOME and SECTIONS are light-blue navigation buttons.

· REPEAT speaks the current challenge again.

· CHECK speaks the response and advances only after speech finishes.

START / RESTART announces the section name and returns to its first item.

Editing the Checklist Inside the App

The built-in editor is intended for users who want to customize the checklist directly on the Android device after installation.

Path: HOME → EDIT CHECKLISTS

Select Normal or Emergency

Choose the checklist mode you want to edit. Normal and Emergency sections are maintained separately. Changes are applied to the current working copy immediately, but they are not your persistent Master until you select SAVE AS MASTER CHECKLIST.

Edit a section

1. Select the section from the section list.

2. Edit the Section Name. Use the same wording you want the voice system to announce.

3. Edit the optional Section Note if a short explanatory note is appropriate.

4. Press SAVE SECTION.

5. Use MOVE UP or MOVE DOWN to change the section’s position in the checklist.

6. Use ADD SECTION to create a new section or DELETE SECTION to remove one.

Editing a checklist section

This card controls the section itself. Change the name, add an optional note, or move the whole section earlier or later in the checklist.

· SAVE SECTION applies changes to the working checklist.

· MOVE UP / MOVE DOWN changes section order without changing its items.

· ADD SECTION creates a new section; DELETE SECTION removes the selected section and its items.

The Section Name is also the phrase used for the spoken section announcement.

Editing an individual checklist item

Each checklist item has a Challenge, a Response, and an optional Note. The Challenge and Response should be written as short spoken phrases.

· Challenge = what the app asks or calls out.

· Response = what the app speaks after CHECK.

· Note = optional context shown on screen; keep it brief.

MOVE UP / MOVE DOWN changes only the selected item’s position within the section.

Master Checklist controls

The Master Checklist is the user’s persistent, customized copy on that Android device. Saving as Master is the final step after an edit has been reviewed and tested.

· SAVE AS MASTER CHECKLIST stores the current working checklist in TinyDB.

· RESTORE SAVED MASTER CHECKLIST discards current working changes and reloads the last saved Master.

Saving and Restoring the Master Checklist

After editing and testing the working checklist, press SAVE AS MASTER CHECKLIST. The app sends the checklist data to App Inventor TinyDB. TinyDB is persistent, so the saved Master remains available after the app is closed and reopened.

Restore Saved Master Checklist

Use RESTORE SAVED MASTER CHECKLIST when you want to discard unsaved experiments and reload the last Master saved on that device.

Important distinction

Saving an item or section updates the current working checklist. SAVE AS MASTER CHECKLIST is the step that makes the current customized version persist as the user’s startup checklist.
